So as it is possible to have beauty and narrative with spaces left open, why can’t we also have effective websites that allow us to be active and think about the code processing behind?…

Or so say the 1000’s of design blogs in rather the same way: it improves readability and performance, it is tidy, it separates, and it gives focus and attention to the right parts. Sure, I won’t deny that. But what if white space could be used as a tool to give control to the user, to let them learn, understand and actually process what they are doing?”…

“I went a few weeks ago to a performance of Speculations by Mette Ingvartsen at Hau here in Berlin (they always have the best programme). An intriguing story told by Ingvartsen, the audience was left to imagine the performance unfolding before their eyes, even becoming the performers themselves; imaging the process of painting silver paint on their skin, not left to the seats in a theatre but free to move around the space”…

“And then yesterday, I went to see the exhibition Talking is not always the solution showing films by Omer Fast at Martin Gropius Bau. It’s seven long films, but somehow they all relate to each other — or at least I could imagine their connections.”…

“I call for allowing imagination in design. For a process that doesn’t just blink blink click here but allows us to think about what we are doing, how we are moving, what decisions we are making, what technological processes are running behind — to imagine and to learn, to really engage.
