On quest about ‘naked truth’ ⇒ Kirno Sohochari

When ‘Truth’ coming from the well…
The fact might be this truth was imprisoned in a well as victimized by lies. She concealed her in the well because of the material fact that none is certain of her existence. As Democritus was uncertain about this, what we mean truth it might be false and what appeared as lies who knows this is not true or something else! He said, “Of truth we know nothing, for truth is in a well”.

However, the story has gone further based on the proclamation that truth is always naked. She cannot stay with such investiture that makes her untainted nudity dubious or else pretentious to her lovers. Truth looks humble when she appears like a naive kid. That kid who yet even is undaunted about the hypocrisy of lies and doesn’t hesitate to place his hand in the fire. This naivety knows neither what is truth, nor it does concern about the deceitful lies. Since his naivety of placing his hand in the fire is identical with what people have meant by truth.

Truth is naked and captivating. However, man cannot take it due to the incompetence of being naked always. Maybe, for this reason, truth always flung in a well. As Jean-Léon Gérôme, the French painter was hypnotic about the feelings that a naked truth might be seen nowhere! She lived in a well and hopefully murdered and flung by the lie-peddlers. Nevertheless, her untainted nudity as like ever-growing Natural purity saved her, so she can regain in life with flesh and blood like the burning Phoenix. So it can be said the moment is alluring when she heaves herself in the well.

Yeah, when she comes out to the well this moment not remain naive or simple as people think often. It likely beckons the disaster that she coming out teaches the liar actor a lesson who flung her in the well. This screaming nakedness is truth. She concealed her in the well and always subdued by lies. However, when she comes out none is there who can stop the unstoppable nudity she delivered with screaming and with a stick in her hand.

Truth and Womanliness
The common allegory of truth manifests its nudity with naive innocence. Allegory of truth as womanhood is coming out with luminous redundancy of flaming light. When truth debunked its nudity as if she is the first light and rose from the dark-hole of lies with a glistering mirror in her hand, the moment reminds she cannot be clothed just a minute if she wants to get winning over lies. A truth-bearer woman is not a usual or sensual-like woman who is clothed and captured by lies, forasmuch lies cannot be without incognito.

The fiction about truth is allegorical femininity, in other words, a mirror-reflection of such myth that told,— a nude woman with halomirror is sacred but slept long days in the dark cave covered by the pile of lies. When she rose to the sleep threw out the algae that wrapped her she is just not an ordinary woman, she is the example of such womanliness who is dedicated to telling the truth about lies. Jules Joseph Lefebvre and George William Joy‘s academic painting on naked truth might remind this myth once again that truth with glistering mirror can never tell lies.

Truth and Liquor:
Truth is like a wine cellar, was kept in the dark storage with perfect ventilation. She kept there as the old wine as if the purity never be perturbed because of excess moisture, noise, or bad smell. Yeah, she was sleeping there with her vintage virginity. She seized in the cellar like the uncontaminated token, and she even was unaware of the power of her intoxicating beauty. Her intoxicated beauty was remaining there and lilting like the forlorn singing bird as if something has driven her for impunity. Beauty as liquor cannot be unaware days after days about her power of intoxication; she cannot be ignorant about her drunken insanity which she carried not just for the balance temperature that coming to the narrow shutter!

The truth as well-tempered old wine cannot stay long in the shady cellar because of its strong liquor. Yeah, she kept there to get one drunk by anyhow. The wine will inevitably come out to the cellar by any means and the truth quite so. Gustav Klimt‘s Nuda Veritas can be comparable with this intoxicating desire. She, if we consider her the allegory of truth, at last, is coming out to the shady cellar with a mirror in hand to amaze one who loved boozed himself by the wild taste. A person who loves truth doesn’t bother whatever the fate that wild liquor may convey for him!

The Truth-bearing Dog:
The naked truth is troublesome when one thinks about the loyalty that she might offer to him. The embargo that a naked truth offers that he cannot permit him telling lie whatever the circumstances are. The burden of telling the truth that there could be no alternative for a man who commits he will sit beside the goddess just like the loyal dog as Michael Triegel depicts in his painting. As well, he never forgets to follow every footstep of that magnificent light-bearer woman who per se is committed conveying sheen unto the final breath.

The burden is immense for both who carried the shining lamp and the man who follows her to take a bath in the radiating lights of truth. Truth deserves loyalty and proclaims its victory over lies through barking loyalty. Maybe for this, the truth-bearer and her follower both cannot be here without accepting the truth that they are destined to carry the pain and grief if they wanted to be truthful always.

The excruciating riddle of a truth-seeker is that his doggish loyalty overtly imprisoned him in the cage. It compelled him thinks about truth a sacred dictum that he cannot escape. Yes, he cannot escape it even in the life-death dilemma, when telling a lie might save him to the danger! Sometimes lie appears more sensical than truth, but the obedient follower of light-bearing woman, for him it’s a maze that if he told lie then he ignores what truth is meant by. Contrary, if he told truth he ignores the eternal sacred, that is, a truth-seeker dog cannot tell lies! Whatsoever the reason is, if he hats off to truth he must loyal to the condition that he will follow the woman unto the last breath, despite knowing that she would throw him in danger.

Michael Triegel’s beautiful allegory of the truth-bearing woman in this context is a burden for the seer who imprisoned himself in sacrifice; that he never could be profane even when only lies can help him to escape the maze.

Truth as Forbidden Fruit:
The relation between truth and lie is interdependent. The existence of truth cannot be proven without an absence of lies. In opposite, lies as a statement of action cannot be authentic until truth-like something becomes visible with its symbolic vivacity, which means the naked woman or else something with a glaring lamp in her hand. Lie so far exists as proof of becoming, as far truth exists as prevention for what lie tried to vindicate pointful for one. If there is no truth exist to tell something about wrongdoing, then there might be nothing remain that can be named as wrong or heinous or evildoer profanity against life, or else its desire to consider truth the revelation of light in the darkness.

Naked Truth_6_2, Truth II by Ferdinand Hodler, 1853-1918, Swiss

Allegorical but it might be the fact that Adam and Eve were strolling in Eden beyond out of anything one meant by sacred and profane, truth and lies and etcetera. They were just enjoying their assignment of walking in the heavenly garden like other creations, might begets by Godlike someone. Yeah, they were free to succumb in the burden of truth and lies until before someone has whispered in their ear to think about the forbidden tree and the hanging fruit in there. Maybe that someone has silently slept in their mind or else he was the real evildoer, who possibly created by Godlike something else, to exemplify what freedom meant by when one is curious about it.

Truth in that context can consider one’s desire to embrace the pain that freedom meant by! The pain emerged when one like Adam or Eve ate the forbidden fruit by being curious. Curiosity is the mother of lie and truth as well. Anyway, truth in this sense cannot be a heavenly thing; rather it is maybe the poisonous fruit for tasting one’s fate on Earth. Which is eternal it exists beyond truth and lies. Doing his work without being curious that what meaning it bare or what be the reaction of it can only lead one to stay in truthless eternity. Godlike something as a creator of this bizarre world He must stay there beyond truth and lies. Else He exists there as a lonely survivor of carried both truths and lies in His incorporeal beingness.

However, Swiss painter Ferdinand Hodler when depicts how the naked truth arose with singularity to exemplify its victory over the liars, it somehow reflects that the nude woman has to be lonely in the ghostly surface of lies. Her followers now destined to fight against which they think is deviate them to eat the forbidden fruit, so they can never walk in the garden with an empty mind like the mythical Adam and Eve.

Two Swans and about Truth:
The bloody game between truth and lies reminds Hilma Af Klint‘s painting series on Swan. A loving spiritualist who likes talking about the meeting between two worlds. Both worlds are contrary when they met, as because one is transient and another is eternal. Which she meant by transient it stays always in the womb of eternal, and eternal is none but the whiff of the transient. This temporality she believes may relentlessly exit and enters in the realm to make-out the world which one meant by permanent. The swan that now takes its flight in the transient world, she always struggling to search the perfect landing zone, where after that no flight is required. Contrary, the swan who is now staying in the so-called eternal world she also flies there for landing such a world that will vanish often.

The white swan in bluish-black canvas, in truth context she can be thinkable as the everlasting desire of one who is biased about truth. That swan now stays in the transient world and eagerly wanted to be coming out to the dark blackish-blue so she can enter in the yellow-white frame forever. Reversely the black swan in yellow-white can be regarded as a reflection of lies. She also reeling there and tried to escape the yellow-white to find her proper place that means the bluish dark or the transient. Both of them now flying around the wrong sky and both cannot be fulfilled until they met each other in the borderline of these two worlds.

Apparent there is no reason to exist for truthbird swan to love her opponent and the same is applicable for the liebird. Anyway, here is a contrast between both swans, that the sacred white bird as light-bearer truth and the profane dark bird as lies, they are incomplete except for meet each other. This incompleteness is reality and this is life. A swan neither exists anywhere to symbolize truth, nor a blackbird could remain to remind lies. What exists that is words, sentences, similes, allegories, and abstraction among actions of temporal and permanent.

That’s why it’s expedient to think people’s desire for truth and commitment to be truthful always is in effect an abstraction of thinking about truth as a permanent preventive against lies. Sound somber but relaxing when Susan Sontag said, “The truth is always something that is told, not something that is known. If there were no speaking or writing, there would be no truth about anything. There would only be what is.”
