Reader’s Short Note: Creation of reality is significant to apprehend the fact that how it works on our planet and the universe as well. It is noteworthy for us to recognize which theory fitted best to creation, transformation and reincarnation process of real things in our planet and the entire universe. Our cognition about creation and appearance of reality is methodical. An ontological doctrine of philosophy and science governed our perception about the existence of real things in a surface. Not like that, we tried to rationalize the reality as de facto for all existential objects. Our view, perception, and cognition tried to represent the reality as a substantial theory, which we can think rational to validate our presence in reality, and which we can use to realize the interactive function of all visible and invisible objects, that is maybe responsible for creation of real things in reality.

Meanwhile, till now we are inept to know what other creatures think about reality; least they feel it or not, capable of interpreting or not, and least they have any philosophical views about the reality or not. We are still in dark to know other’s level of consciousness about reality, but our lively existence is nil sans the recognition that, all visible and invisible stuff are the subjective expression of a grand narrative, and that is “Reality”. Anyway, it is clear human mind is conscious about the existence of reality, curious to find out the cause of reality, and eager to know “why reality is an existent fact rather than nonexistent.” Human mind also eager to find the answer that, —is reality a pre-conscious essence for all living objects, or consciousness is a later consequence of creation, that is evolved here after the creation of real things in the universe.
Philosophical concept added some valid hypothetical assumption to get the clear answer, whereas scientific expedition added more throughout its restless experiment with all visible and invisible objects. The expedition of science now reached the stage where many hypotheses (without having any solid proof) appeared as reality for it. Suppose physicists are dealing with the matter, they tried to touch the bottom line using a materialistic view. Their sharp observance and experiment helped them to perceive the subjective view that how real things work in reality. Now the widely used view seemed inadequate for them to comprehend the complicated interaction of real things, just depending on to the materialistic views and experiment. Today’s physicists are obliged to expand their vision beyond over the so-called materialistic cause-and-effect fact-findings. They are now becoming more metaphysical to presume the fact that, why things act wired in the micro level, and how they played their role in that level so consistently without intercepting the macro reality.
Today’s findings on the creation of real things indicate reality can exist none the presence of any observer of reality; as quantum reality existed in micro reality and differ with the macro reality of any objects. Visible objects and their relation to a macro stage are not enough to build a complete diagram of reality’s creation in the world, just because of the exotic behavior of yonder objects at the micro level. On the other hand, quantum behavior of any object in micro level is not sufficient to make a crystal picture of reality’s creation. The world exists and real things are functioning despite the dissimilation between both stages of reality.
Readers, today’s shared post perhaps my little effort to focus the grand canvas of reality’s creation in the universe. Yes, Jim Elvidge’s article “New Hints to How our Reality is Created” is meaningful to me in this context. I think his article tried to mark the state where science and philosophy stand almost in an equal state. Both disciplines are now depended on a batch of hypothesis to find the real fact of reality. None of any hypothesis is true and false because each hypothesis made assumption beyond over the materialistic cause-and-effect diagram. They are experimented but not ovenproof.
Jim’s article tried to touch the hypothetical problem by discussing the “Objective and Subjective Materialism” method, usually used to solve the creation problem of reality in science and philosophy. His discussion hints a new dimension that, modern hypothesis stands far away to the usual, and it is happening because of the dynamics of micro object’s behavior in quantum level. However, before pushed our head to his article I wanted to say something about quantum dynamics of reality; and indeed, according to my thought and realization. Readers, I’m not an expert in the field, so if I misunderstood and doing a mistake, please feel free to rectify me. It will enrich me for moving forward.

I know so far, the familiar dynamics of quantum reality informed us that usually, a particle follows two paths to maintain its movement. It can move either a particle or in the wave. Suppose a photon always takes one unique path (flat or vertical) to maintain its status in reality, and never takes arbitrary paths at the same time. This consistent behavior favored us to interact with other objects. It appeared helpful for us to understand and communicate the reality as well. Any action of the atom is fine and be normal when particle maintained such certain behavior. Our living and visible macro reality is perhaps the result of such behavior of quantum particles on a micro level.
Yonder behavior of photon (or any other particle) portrayed a clear picture that, how things (or objects) coherently related to each other. Laws of physics worked fine in that state. We can confidently theorize our presence and action in reality; even theorize our validity follows the “Objective” or “Subjective” materialism; since, this behavior summarized our existence in a one state dynamics, where nature of reality acted as the faithful actor to the basic laws of quantum dynamics. The reality is assuredly certain and orchestrated there for living and acting this life in the planet or elsewhere.
However, reality-map told a different story when particle takes several paths at the same time. In that state, they can take several uncertain paths to create real things and to interact with other particles in an atomic level. All paths could be co-existed there in the same time and state. This entangled (we can call it superposition) picture told a different story of reality. Particles superseded each other and acted just autonomous. Anyway, superposition of particles is not a regular event; if it is, we perhaps not able to exist in present state of visual reality; maybe our shape changed oftentimes without any pause. This is the imagination of sparse reality, imagined by modern scientist according to the experience of Double Slit Experiment and Erwin Schrödinger’s Cat Riddle.

Whatever this, superposition-like uncertainty enlarged the hypothetical diagram that, none is certain in a quantum state and perhaps particles acted as a free entity in the moment of reality’s creation. If I’m not wrong ‘Quantum Superposition’ happened once in a ten million years. The physical existence of any objects showing a ridiculous picture in that state. We can realize the state using Schrödinger’s famous thought experiment. He used it for Albert Einstein. The main purpose of the experiment was to explain him about the ridicule behavior of particles in a quantum state. Let tried to understand the whole experiment according to Sir Roger Penrose statement. He discussed the experiment in his book and numerous lectures.
We know he is working on consciousness and quantum superposition state in light of object reduction principle at the beginning moment of reality’s creation since from the decades. The great mathematician and theoretical physicist differed with his colleague’s opinions about the creation of reality in before or aftermath moments of Big Bang. However, a few years ago he made an interesting speech on that issues, where he narrated Schrödinger’s experiment in light of his theory about Orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR). According to his narration, we can test Schrödinger’s “Thought Experiment” under certain condition:-
Imagine there is a laser beam, a photon detector, a piece of mirror, a cat and an observer to see the whole event. When we sent a single photon using a laser beam, it takes the straight path (for example a flat path) and caught by the detector as straight as well. If we attached a gun to the detector and shoot the poor cat (not really, just imagine for the sake of experiment), an observer will see a dead cat without any confusion. However, when particle takes reverse (suppose a vertical path) for its movement, the cat caught alive in observer’s eyes. He always gets the single picture of the cat in every time of the experiment. It is the common picture of reality and we are used and treated the reality true in our life. The cat is caught either dead or is alive at this stage of the experiment.
The whole scene appeared different if we imagine the cat’s status in a ‘Quantum Superposition’ state. Particles vigorously changed their position in that stage. It is tough to guess their movement or interaction because the whole genesis is massive and uncertain for an assumption. They replaced each other by random ways. It’s a bizarre state, in where both paths of the photon (flat and vertical) can co-exists at the same time and space of reality. Observer then sees the both position (dead and alive) of the cat in the same fashion.
‘Quantum Superposition’ makes a garbled picture of the cat in his mind, where he tangled half-life and half death position. The sense of reality is simply going absurd in such state.
Why it happened? Sir Roger Penrose think, the spinning of the electron in a particle greatly influenced and agitated in such state, the spinning played absurd rule to manipulate the reality according to its desire. In his book ‘The Emperor’s New Mind’, he explained that quantum particles are usually coherent in nature. They are habitat to stack-up with each other, to make the harmonious geometry of the world. We are all living in a coherent and consistent world, and this is the general principle of quantum physics too. ‘Quantum Superposition’ is a total crash of that reality. Particles are showing an exotic tendency. Even wave function collapsed there due to the massive differences in energy amid individual particle. All entangled therein a “one-gravitation” level. Our valid position and observance matrix of reality seemed garbled in yonder situation.
In his controversial theory about ‘Object Reduction Principle’, Penrose tried to clear that cohabited particle does no longer exist in ‘quantum superposition’ state. It happened for tiny moments of time; created coexistence state for all quantum particles at the same time and space, and cohabit until the space-time curvature appeared there as a separator. However, the energy of particles reduces quickly in a dense state. Soon after two-state positions of the particle emerged there in one state position, which means reality grasped by the zombie.
Penrose new theory later advanced more and attached itself with anesthetist and surgeon Stuart Hameroff‘s microtubules theory. Their theory created many controversy and criticism in the science community. A majority of scientist and science-lover denied the theory. They accused Penrose of importing pseudoscience in physics; criticized him for his metaphysical version of reality and the debate yet continued. Anyway, the debate is not negative if we think the present state of creation theory and its new synthesis midst scientific community. This is not a proper place to discuss the whole, but it reminded us the necessity of debate for theory’s sake.

We are living in a real world but the creation moment of this real yet diversified by dialectical thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. Our expedition to find out the valid interpretation that “why reality exists and in which ways”, was happening from the dawn of human civilization. We are curious to know the creation moment of reality because of our essential partisan in reality as created entity. A reality is a consciousness, a sentient stage of our mind is necessary to reach the objective that, —a de-facto something activated there from the very beginning moment of real creation.
Our existence, in reality, is nothing but an autonomous activation of lively being. Life is a sum of variant interpretation, just to validate our living as a human being in reality. We can live this reality being ignorant about the whole creation or existence of real things. On the opposite, it appeared hard to us living as unconscious in reality. Our body system and brain function have superb computational capability; we achieved it perhaps from the long evolution and adaptation in reality. And or, conscious was being as predefined features and with us from the creation moment of real things or objects.
Our perception of reality still rotates in two confronting dialects and dynamics. Jim’s attention-grabbing tone helped me to think about the whole notion regarding philosophical aspect. It also reminded me the present limitation of theoretical physics. Materialistic experiment and thought process in physics now looking metaphysical, despite its negative attitude to the philosophical idealism of reality!

Jim started his own dynamics mentioned the inclusive conflicts between Objective and Subjective materialism. He discussed the conflicts in his article in light of recent activities, is doing under Double Slit Experiment in a quantum field. He used the recent progress to interpret his narration about reality, in where the experiment tried to highlight something new (and controversial) about the creation of reality. In his article, Jim’s tone sounds objectionable to the practitioners of materialism. He appeared critical to them; because he didn’t hide his favor to the practitioners of subjective idealism. Anyway, his reasoning seemed one-sighted, but not banal in the context of modern day’s reality discourse. Jim mentioned and I quoted the summary here:

Knowing about reality is exigent for us to know that how reality works and is it has any creation moment or not. Problem is that knowing the reality is always conundrum; since, we were not present when the incident happened; or maybe it never happened. The universe is just reeling as autonomous according to its eternal laws of fluctuation, superposition, and contraction. So that, a question is customary in that sense. Is reality an unconscious beep of life, and acted like a pauseless clock ticks? To cut to the chase, it appears that our reality is being dynamically generated based on an ultra-sophisticated algorithm that takes into account not just the usual cause/effect context (as materialists believe), and conscious observation and intent (as idealists believe), but also a complex array of reality configuration probabilities so as to be optimally efficient.

This philosophical journey has its origins in the well-known double slit experiment, originally done by Thomas Young in 1801 to determine that light had wavelike properties. In 1961, the experiment was performed with electrons, which also showed wavelike properties. The experimental setup involved shooting electrons through a screen containing two thin vertical slits. The wave nature of the particles was manifested in the form of an interference pattern on a screen that was placed on the other side of the double slit screen. It was a curious result but confirmed quantum theory. In 1974, the experiment was performed one electron at a time, with the same resulting interference pattern, which showed that it was not the electrons that interfered with each other, but rather a probabilistic spatial distribution function that was followed by the pattern on the screen. Quantum theory predicted that if a detector was placed at each of the slits so as to determine which slit each electron would go through, the interference pattern would disappear and just leave two vertical lines, due to the quantum complementarity principle. This was difficult to create in the lab, but experiments in the 1980s confirmed expectations – that the “which way did the particle go” measurement killed the interference pattern. The mystery was that the mere act of observation seemed to change the results of the experiment.
So, at this point, people who were interested in how the universe works effectively split into two camps, representing two fundamental philosophies that set the foundation for thinking, analysis, hypothesis, and theorizing:
Objective Materialism
Subjective Idealism

The problem is that most scientists, and probably at least 99% of all outspoken science trolls believe in Materialism. And “believe” is the operative word. Because there is ZERO proof that Materialism is correct. Nor is there proof that Idealism is correct. So, “believe” is all that can be done. Although, as the massive amount of evidence leans in favor of Idealism, it is fair to say that those believers at least have the scientific method behind them, whereas materialists just have “well gosh, it sure seems like we live in a deterministic world.” What is interesting is that Materialism can be falsified, but I’m not sure that Idealism can be. The Materialist camp had plenty of theories to explain the paradox of the double slit experiments – alternative interpretations of quantum mechanics, local hidden variables, non-local hidden variables, a variety of loopholes, or simply the notion that the detector took energy from the particles and impacted the results of the experiment (as has been said, when you put a thermometer in a glass of water, you aren’t measuring the temperature of the water, you are measuring the temperature of the water with a thermometer in it.)
Over the years, the double-slit experiment has been progressively refined to the point where most of the materialistic arguments have been eliminated. For example, there is now the delayed choice quantum eraser experiment, which puts the “which way” detectors after the interference screen, making it impossible for the detector to physically interfere with the outcome of the experiment. And, one by one, all of the hidden variable possibilities and loopholes have been disproven. In 2015, several experiments were performed independently that closed all loopholes simultaneously with both photons and electrons. Since all of these various experimental tests over the years have shown that objective realism is false and non-local given the experimenters choices, the only other explanation could be what John Bell called Super-determinism, a universe completely devoid of free will, running like clockwork playing out a fully predetermined script of events. If true, this would bring about the extremely odd result that the universe is setup to ensure that the outcomes of these experiments imply the opposite to how the universe really works. But I digress…
The net result is that Materialism-based theories on reality are being chipped away experiment by experiment. Those that believe in Materialist dogma are finding themselves being painted into an ever-shrinking philosophical corner. But Idealism-based theories are huge with possibilities, very few of which have been falsified experimentally.
Physicist and fellow digital philosopher, Tom Campbell, has boldly suggested a number of double slit experiments that can probe the nature of reality a little deeper. Tom, like me, believes that consciousness plays a key role in the nature of and creation of our reality. So much so that he believes that the outcome of the double slit experiments is due strictly to the conscious observation of the which-way detector data. In other words, if no human (or “sufficiently conscious” entity) observes the data, the interference pattern should remain. Theoretically, one could save the data to a file, store the file on a disk, hide the disk in a box and the interference pattern would remain on the screen. Open the box a day later and the interference pattern should automatically disappear, effectively rewriting history with the knowledge of the paths of the particles. His ideas have incurred the wrath of the physics trolls, who are quick to point out that regardless of the fact that humans ever read the data, the interference pattern is gone if the detectors record the data. The data can be destroyed, or not even written to a permanent medium, and the interference pattern would be gone. If these claims are true, it does not prove Materialism at all. But it does infer something very interesting.
From this and many many other categories of evidence it is strongly likely that our reality is dynamically being generated. Quantum entanglement, quantum zeno effect, and the observer effect all look very much like artifacts of an efficient system that dynamically creates reality as needed. It is the “as needed” part of this assertion that is most interesting. I shall refer to that which creates reality as “the system.”
Entanglement happens because when a two-particle-generating event occurs, it is efficient to create two particles using the same instance of a finite state machine and, therefore, when it is needed to determine the properties of one, the properties of the other are automatically known, as detailed in my blog post on entanglement. The quantum zeno effect happens because it is more efficient to reset the probability function each time an observation is made, as detailed in my blog post on quantum zeno. And so what about the double slit mystery? To illuminate, see the diagram below.
If the physicists are right, reality comes into existence at point 4 in the diagram. Why would that be? The paths of the particles are apparently not needed for the experience of the conscious observer, but rather to satisfy the consistency of the experiment. The fact that the detector registers the data is enough to create the reality. Perhaps the system “realizes” that it is less efficient to leave hanging experiments all over the place until a human “opens the envelope” than it is to instantiate real electron paths despite the unlikely possibility of data deletion. Makes logical sense to me. But it also indicates a sophisticated awareness of all of the probabilities of how the reality can play out out vis a vis potential human interactions.
The system is really smart.
